Case studies
Three projects, described by the problem solved rather than the technology used. Odoo v13 through v19, from scoping to go-live.
SOLAR ENERGY INSTALLER · ODOO 19 ENTERPRISE
From four disconnected tools to one platform
The situation
A growing solar installation company running its entire operation across four systems that did not talk to each other: HubSpot for CRM, Notion for documentation, Allo for telephony, Vista for quotes. Customer data was scattered, staff re-keyed the same information between tools, and there was no continuity between prospecting, the technical site visit and the installation itself. Administrative follow-up on permits and approvals happened outside any system. Invoicing arrived late and customers found it hard to read.
What I did
I ran the scoping workshops with the sales and field teams and mapped the target process end to end before touching any configuration: lead capture from social media forms, qualification call through the Allo API, opportunity creation, scheduled technical visit, quote with electronic signature, administrative follow-up, installation through partner agents by geographic zone, and milestone-based invoicing.
Odoo then replaced HubSpot, Notion and Vista. Allo was kept and integrated through its API rather than replaced, because the telephony worked and there was no business case for changing it.
The arbitrages that mattered
Standard first. A native Odoo form rather than a bespoke web application, which is what the client initially asked for.
Controlled automation. An opportunity is created only when the qualification criteria are actually met, rather than on every inbound call. Fewer, better opportunities.
Targeted custom development. Call transcript analysis, which is the one place standard Odoo genuinely stopped short.
Change management. Teams were attached to their old tools. Co-construction workshops, trained internal champions and a progressive switchover, rather than a hard cutover.
Result
Four tools consolidated into one, with Allo integrated rather than discarded. A single customer reference across the whole lifecycle, and milestone invoicing the customer can actually read. Post go-live tracking covers conversion rate, invoicing delays and customer disputes.

SERVICES AND INSURANCE · ODOO 15 TO 18
Integration and automation of operational flows
The situation
A services company in the insurance sector with complex operational workflows. Processes were manual, which meant delays, errors and constant re-keying between applications. There was no single trusted reference system, and nothing was traceable end to end.
What I did
I scoped the sales, invoicing and dunning flows between Odoo and the surrounding business tools, then automated the critical processes: order handling, invoice generation, notifications. Reliability came from logging every exchange between systems, adding alerts on failure, and consolidating reporting into unified dashboards rather than per-tool views.
Alongside the technical work: training, written documentation, and the adoption work that decides whether any of it survives contact with the teams.
Result
Odoo became the single reference system. Re-keying and the errors that came with it dropped sharply. Continuity was maintained across two major version upgrades, v15 through v18, without interrupting operations.
IT MANAGED SERVICES · ODOO 13
SmartLocker: from paper registers to full traceability
The situation
IT equipment was distributed to staff through connected lockers, but the records were kept entirely on paper. Nobody could say with confidence which device was in which locker, who had taken what, or when. No visibility, no traceability, and no way to audit any of it.
What I did
Specification and design validated with the client before development started. The module was built to integrate with the native Odoo apps already in use rather than sitting beside them: HR for the people, Inventory for the equipment, Contacts for the relationships. Then data migration from the paper records, user training, and three months of support after go-live.
Result
Complete traceability across lockers, equipment and users. Real-time visibility for management, and a client autonomous on the system after go-live rather than dependent on me.
Same method, v13 to v19
Scoping, workshops, specification, testing, training, go-live, stabilisation. The version changes. The method does not.
